The Suffolk Festival of Performing Arts is a festival for people of all ages, held once a year. Its aim is to provide an opportunity for people of all abilities to perform and to receive the constructive advice of a professional adjudicator. The atmosphere is relaxed, but disciplined enough to make sure that performers have every opportunity to give their best. Many of the performance classes are competitive, but the emphasis is less on competition than on enjoying the chance to perform in public. The Festival is held in and around Ipswich, being a focal point of Suffolk, although performers are welcome from further afield. New-comers are especially welcome, although many people return year after year as their experience and ability improves. The emphasis is on classical works, but we do have classes for many other tastes, including Songs from the Shows.
