Awards for the 2008 Festival
The Suffolk Pianoforte Championship (Hilda Prigg Trophy) is awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes, having won at least one of them:-
1. One single-composer class (PN 29 or PN 30).
2. The piano solo recital class (PN 33).
3. The 20th century class (PN 36).
The Suffolk String Championship (Music Committee Cup) is awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes, having won at least one of them:-
1. One Grade 8+ class (ST 240 or IN 108).
2. The unaccompanied Bach class (ST 248).
3. The String recital class (ST 249 or IN 115).
The Suffolk Wind Championship (Suffolk Wind Trophy) is awarded to the performer with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes, having won at least one of them:-
1. One Grade 8+ class (WD 80, 92 or IN 108).
2. Class WD 81 – Sonata for Wind Instrument.
3. The Wind recital class (WD 82 or IN 115).
The Suffolk Vocal Championship (Oliver Lusher Cup) is awarded to the performer with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes:-
1. One voice-type class (VC 151 or 155).
2. One vocal class (VC 161,162,163 or 164).
3. The Vocal solo recital (VC 170).
The Suffolk Open Vocal Championship is awarded to the performer with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes, having won at least one of them:-
1. One voice-type class (VC 151 or 155).
2. One vocal class (VC 161,162,163 or 164).
3. The Vocal solo recital (VC 170).
The Suffolk Youth Vocal Championship (ISM Trophy) is awarded to the performer (aged 17 – 19yrs) with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes, having won at least one of them:-
1. Vocal solo class (VC 196).
2. Unaccompanied Folk Song Class (VC 200).
3. Show Song class (VC 179).
The Suffolk Junior Vocal Championship (JV Trophy) is awarded to the performer (aged 16 years or under) with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes, having won at least one of them:-
1. One Vocal Solo class (VC189, 193 or 194).
2. Unaccompanied Folk Song Class (VC198 or 199).
3. One Show Song class (VC176, 177 or 178).
The Suffolk Dance Champion Cup is awarded to the most outstanding solo Dance performer in the opinion of the Dance adjudicator.
The Suffolk Junior Speech Championship (Stowmarket Town Council Trophy) is awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE solo classes for 11 years or under, having won at least one of them.
The Suffolk Senior Speech Championship (Frederick H Honeycombe Memorial Cup) is awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE of the following, having won at least one of them:-
1. One verse speaking class (SS 307-313).
2. One prose class (SS 325-328 or 335-337).
3. One Shakespeare class (SS 342-344).
4. One repertoire or modern drama class (SS 353-358).
The Louise Livett Trophy for outstanding performance on two instruments has championship status and is awarded to the competitor with the highest aggregate of marks in THREE classes:-
1. One of the following piano classes:- PN 29, 30, 32.
2. One senior solo class in another instrumental section (WD 80 and 92) (ST 240) (PN 272) and (IN 108).
3. One other solo class from any Piano, Instrumental, Wind or String Section.
